Skansen

On our walk in Djurgården you will pass Skansen.

Skansen is one of Swedens main tourist attractions and you can easily spend a whole day here.

Skansen is a zoo but also an open-air museum. You can experience historical buildings from all over Sweden, most of them from the 18th and 19th centuries. You can visit the animals and walk in nice parks ands gardens.

On the picture below you can see Skomakarhuset (Shoemaker's house). It was originally from Södermalm in Stockholm and was built around 1700.

There are about 60 different animal species in the Skansen Zoo, the main emphasis on Nordic wild animals. such as the brown bear, elk, wolverine, lynx and seal.

On the picture bolow you can see otters.
